What don’t we want? Radiant Crown is looking for diverse, dark, and unexpected stories. If your story features a largely white and able-bodied cast of 20-somethings, lounging around and complaining about hookups, it probably won’t do well here.

What are we looking for? People typically on the margins at the forefront, delving into tough topics, and protagonists that are subversive or and outright antiheroes, heroines, and so on.

Shorter poetry or prose? Check out Helios Quarterly Magazine, Selene Quarterly Magazine (September 2017), Hyperion and Theia, and The Kármán Liminality (100km) Annual Chapbook Series

Novelette sized chapbook? Query fiction and poetry between 7,500-17,500 words in length for the digital and limited print run imprint The Kármán.

Novella length suitable for eBook? Query fiction between 17,000 – 40,000 words in length that can fit the digital and audiobook first imprint Legion.

Compelling and dark interactive fiction? Query interactive fiction/CYOA up to 90,000 words in length that can fit the IF exclusive imprint Sphinx.

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES: NONFICTION

All submissions should be attached as a .doc, .docx (preferred) or a .rtf

Query with an overview, competition, marketing/publicity, chapter outline, projected timeline, and 3 sample chapters (optional) to subs [at] radiantcrownpublishing.com

The subject line should read NON-FICTION: TITLE: AUDIENCE

ex). NON-FICTION: MENTAL HEALTH & THE GLASS ROOM: WOMEN

A short cover letter is required. Please include your legal name, pen name (if relevant), contact information, recent publications (if any), and include a bio of 150 words.

Allow up to month to review your submission. Allow up to three months to review a full if requested.

Of Interest:

  • People on the Margins
  • Memoirs (Suicide, Disease, and so on)
  • Disabilities (Mental Health, Physical, Invisible, and so on)

What don’t we want? See above. But, instead of fictional stories about 20-somethings, replace it with business manuals for up and coming 20-something entrepreneurs better suited for another house.

What are we looking for? Tough topics and subversion. We want memoirs that deal in reality but offer hope at the same time. We want stories, true to life, not white-washed and from the heart. We want day to day struggles and commonplace issues that aren’t talked about because no one wants to address the elephant(s) in the room.

Shorter narrative nonfiction? Check out Helios Quarterly Magazine and Selene Quarterly Magazine (September 2017)
